- First thing to take away from this is that LensClient that is up there is a test version, as so named.
- Second, a couple people asked me what benefits it has over configuring mush-client themselves the answer is: NONE
The purpose of the Lensclient is go give new players a springboard into a decently configured version. A lot of potential players aren't able or willing to customize it themselves... that is what this LensClient is for.
FUTURE
On the bug-fixing side, I'm looking at fixing an alias typo, a problem with the window plugin not properly translating tell emotes. Nothing big.
On the features side, I'm looking at installing a plugin that lets you click on URLs in the game. I'm also looking at the possibility of adding gagchat and ungagchat commands to prevent/allow text displayed in the other windows from appearing in the main window. Something anyone can do right now, I want people to be able to toggle it on the fly with no setup required.
As usual, suggestions are welcome, and actual contributions such as plugins/scripts/and-such are greatly desired.
If you could get the gags to work, I would LOVE to know how. I'm also trying to figure out how to add channels to certain windows. And lastly, Kelen's plugin is extremely helpful for keeping track of your quest points per level, base hp and mana/potential base hp and mana, and the all too wonderful built in skill cap timer/calculator. IT will also color code spec percentages and has an added bonus to show what percent you can teach skills up to. -tpb Siyani
ReplyDeleteEven if you 'gag' a channel, it'll still print a single blank line, that's problem muds using mushclient as their official client have been struggling with for ages. So the gag will not be perfect.
DeleteI'll look into Kelen's plugin, thank you for bringing it up.
Absolutely fantastic! I would love to chat with you about design ideas. What I'd love would be a customized freeware zmud version and a customized MUSHclient that matched up, with either option available.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about giving people a springboard to get started from, and having something that makes the game comfortable, and therefore more enjoyable.
