Blog on Hold!

Between school starting again, my new faith in Lensmoor, and the countless things I want to do there within and on Lensmoor.org, I'm going to have to stop updating this blog at least for now. Many of the posts I WOULD have put here in the past will either go to the the main page news... and...

--==See the newly created STAFF BLOG for more details. ==--

This isn't the end of my updates as a staff member, the updates are merely being announced in another places and redundancy isn't something I have time for.

Tarmel Lowlands Group Questing

There were a few offending rooms in the Bloodstone Mines that did NOT get the proper flags originally. This should be fixed. If you find Group Quest mobs ending up in the mines, please note or email me ASAP.

Zone should be about 80% more quest friendly.

Lensclient 1.3

Did a quick update to the LensClient to add some functionality for immortals.

While doing the update I found a way to gag multiple blank lines. It will still display the first one, which is important for a lot of things on Lensmoor, but it will display no others after the first one, meaning if a blank line already exists, the client will no longer spam players with more of them as transferred text is going.

So all in all, 1.3 is a good update!

Aside from that my wife and I have been watching the ef series. I can't say I'm a fan of anime romance, but these two EF series are so abstract and there's just something awesome about the flow of the story.

Have a look at the opening for godsakes:

Tautha Remort Quest

As my in-game note indicated, I've closed the Tautha Quest zone after being requested to work on it.

Redesigning it.

It will start in a different location as well. I'm estimating a little under two weeks to finish.

In other news I've got my wife watching Rayearth Season 2. So I've got that playing in the background right now:

Lensclient Update

Posted the update to Lensclient last night which includes that gag functionality I was talking about earlier. It still has a minor bug or two, but I'll try to get the next version up in a day or two.

In other news I picked up the Spore Complete Pack when it was on one of those 3 hour sales. Having played Spore in the past, I knew I was going to enjoy this, Galactic adventures adds fun to the space stage because you run across adventure planets where you beam down and do quests. It's basically puts you back into the creature game EXCEPT you can level up, get equipment, upgrades that sort of thing.

Here's my little Bloodwalker's Evolution:

Here's  how my animal ended up looking:

And in space, all he needed was a tophat:

Lensclient Page

LensClient has its own page now! Click here to see it. The page displays features, how to use, known bugs, and a changelog.

The clients page has been updated to reference this new page as well.

Lensclient now and future

  • First thing to take away from this is that LensClient that is up there is a test version, as so named.
  • Second, a couple people asked me what benefits it has over configuring mush-client themselves the answer is: NONE
That's right, you ARE better off configuring mushclient yourself.

The purpose of the Lensclient is go give new players a springboard into a decently configured version. A lot of potential players aren't able or willing to customize it themselves... that is what this LensClient is for.

FUTURE
On the bug-fixing side, I'm looking at fixing an alias typo, a problem with the window plugin not properly translating tell emotes. Nothing big.

On the features side, I'm looking at installing a plugin that lets you click on URLs in the game. I'm also looking at the possibility of adding gagchat and ungagchat commands to prevent/allow text displayed in the other windows from appearing in the main window. Something anyone can do right now, I want people to be able to toggle it on the fly with no setup required.

As usual, suggestions are welcome, and actual contributions such as plugins/scripts/and-such are greatly desired.

Promoted

I am no longer a Demi, I've been promoted. It may be a week or two before I get a religion.

Until then please refer to this video:

Ruins of the Sinyar & Lensmoor.org

My most recent zone, Ruins of the Sinyar has been approved and released.

In addition I've modified the landing page of Lensmoor.org to include news. It'll be more helpful letting people know when changes happen in-game, no longer having to rely on this blog.

Sirae Village

This existing Antrippan zone (Sirae Village) now has a Zonequest, enjoy.

(Waiting for my newest zone to be approved, work on it is complete.)
